Low Calorie Fall Starbucks!


Does the PSL season at Starbucks warm your heart as much as it does mine? Here we will go over how we can have those fall drinks we love while keeping track of our fitness goals. My 10 favorite low calories order are at the bottom!


Liquid Calories?

When trying to get and shape and lose body fat, this is often the last thing people think about. Most people think about the foods they are eating, but neglect the 300-400 calorie coffee they get every day… This can be dangerous because when you consume 400 calories in food, it will help to make you feel full, but with coffee you can get it down in 2 minutes and still be hungry.


Stop Sugarcoating It!

Let’s be honest, the biggest issue with these fall drink we all love is the amount of sugar they have. A normal Pumpkin Spice Latte in going to have 50g of sugar, which adds nearly 200 calories! That is double the recommended daily consumption of sugar! The way to combat this is to customize your order with some sugar free options like sugar free vanilla and sugar free cinnamon dolce syrup. This is going to help you stay on track with your fitness goals, but still getting that fall flavor.


Pump The Breaks!

Just like the gym, your coffee is all about the pump! Your typically Pumpkin Spice Latte has 3 pumps of pumpkin for 75 calories! The easiest way to get the flavor and cut the calories is to ask for just 1 pump, witch comes to just 25 calories. Then you can add 1-2 pumps of sugar free vanilla. This will help to mask the coffee flavor and still keep the pumpkin taste we all fein over!


Cream of The Crop?

When it comes to the toppings, it is best to skip the creams. Whipped cream topping on your pumpkin spice latte is going to add an additional 100 calories to your drink! For me, I rather get that 100 calories in with 2 chocolate rice cakes. Taking out the extras is a great way to get the calories down in your coffees. You are going to have milk or cream in the drink already and you get that same great taste either way.


Got Milk?

Next we need to talk about the milk. This is another easy way to get the calories down without sacrificing taste. when it comes to a latte, subbing in almond milk is going to save you roughly 75 calories in your drink! This also will help for those of us that have am intolerance to lactose, but still want that PSL in the fall. With milk being the majority of the ingredients in a latte this is going to make the second biggest impact next to the pumpkin pumps.


Spice Spice Baby!

Now, lets be honest. Using sugar free syrups, limiting the normal flavor pumps, using almond milk instead of cream or whole milk, and no whipped cream is definitely going to make the drink taste less strong. Good news! Add some extra spice to the top and all your flavor is going to come back! For the fall I always like to add extra pumpkin spice or extra cininimon (or both lol) to the top of my drinks. This is going to make your drink taste as strong as the normal without all the calories.
